BACKGROUND TO THE VACANCY:
BiG Storage Cheshire Jets are a professional basketball club with a base in Chester playing in the British Basketball League. We are just entering the second year of a 5 year strategy to create a major community based sports club in the North West.

THE ROLE:
To oversee the development of The BiG Storage Cheshire Jets brand, ensuring it communicates the core messages of the club effectively and clearly.

To ensure the Cheshire, North Wales and Wirral communities are aware of the activities of BiG Storage Cheshire Jets and businesses, the education sector, fans and potential fans are engaged in The Jets programmes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• To lead all press liaison ensuring maximum exposure through the mediums of newspaper, radio, the web and TV.
• To manage the design, content and updating of the website in a timely and professional fashion.
• To oversee the expansion of the fans data base ensuring integrity of data, legal compliance and effective communication.
• To be the ‘account manager’ for all partner sponsors ensuring the profile of their business in partnership with The Jets is maximised and every opportunity to promote their business is taken.
• To oversee the professional running of corporate entertainment on match nights.
• To manage the relationship with The Jets print partner ensuring all print material is designed within the brand image and printed in a timely and cost effective manner.
• To lead the publicity and marketing of The Jets youth clubs and camps ensuring all young people who may be interested in attending are aware of the opportunity.
• To ensure the profile of BiG Storage Cheshire Jets is maximised within the local business community through networking events, personal introductions and targeted communication.

THE CANDIDATE

We are looking for a person who is passionate about the success of The Jets both in the community and on the court and initially only advertising the position through the website and Jets mail in the hope that we can attract a person who is either passionate about The Jets themselves our is made aware of the opportunity through a ‘Jets believer.’

The person should be of graduate calibre with an ability to communicate to people and analytical mind.
