JETS PART COMPANY WITH TREY MOORE

BiG Storage Cheshire Jets have released guard Trey Moore this weekend ahead of the final three games of the season. Trey felt unable to fulfil his obligations to complete his work in the community and as a result will return home to America this weekend.

Peter Hawkins, BiG Storage Cheshire Jets director commented,   “ we were flattered that a player of Trey’s calibre felt able to join us for part of the season in our first year. As a club, we have started to build a firm foundation for the long term through engaging the community and starting to show the youth of Cheshire and beyond what a great sport basketball is. Without this involvement we do not have a club. It is therefore essential that we all engage in the programmes that we are running - all for one, and one for all.    It is a great shame that Trey felt unable to complete his work in the community, but this left us with no option but to release him. We sat down with him but ended up agreeing to disagree. It must be emphasized that we all still maintain the greatest of respect for each other and we parted with a handshake!. Everyone at the club wishes Trey the very best of luck wherever the rest of his career takes him and we thank him for his considerable contribution on the court.’

Paul Smith Director of Basketball said ‘Trey is a class act, there is no doubt. His experience has helped the younger members of the team develop and everyone knows he will give 100% whether in training or on the match court. I wish him every success with the next stage of his career.’

BiG Storage Cheshire Jets play their final home game of the season at Northgate tomorrow night against Birmingham Panthers with a 5:30pm tip. This game will also incorporate the final of the Chester Hoops for Health Final between Overleigh and Hoole Primary Schools . The season ends next Sunday [20 th April] when the Jets play “Home on the Road”   at The Birchwood Leisure Centre Warrington against Leicester Riders   - once again with a 5:30pm tip.
